Travel plan begins Sunday, August 28th with 9 am flight to Laguardia followed by ground shuttle to Penn Sation, then 2 hr Amtrak to Rhineholt, NY and winds up with another ground shuttle to OMEGA in Rhinebeck. I understand the dining hall serves till 8 pm, so I’ll get there just in time! As a scholarship recipient, my lodging will be a small cabin and community bath house on wooded campus. To sing all day and all night amongst 200+ registrants is …well…INDESCRIBABLE! Can I just become a note that sings forever, please?? B natural would suit me just fine.

Read below my scholarship essay: the words that earned my entrance.
I am a spiritual being having a human experience, with heartfelt desire for more music soul food. I believe, as Bobby McFerrin states “One of the …most direct ways of praying…is through singing, and singing in community is especially powerful.” I know * without doubt or hesitation * that singing with Bobby is to be:
a) part of a life altering experience, individually and within community,
b) in the presence of creative genius and to become creative genius myself
c) one of the highest levels of personal and professional development available to me in this lifetime.
My professional experience is in the arena of arts and education, and includes a range of positions in public education (primary & secondary schools, university d.o.e.’s and community centers); administrative works (conference design/ production, program development / delivery in university & public school settings), and independent projects (radio broadcast 18+ yrs., festival programming & performance, free-lance writing). Certainly Circle Songs will enhance and expand my vocal/choral skills while being part of the Omega programming will expand my experience with aspects of program design and production. It is certain I shall carry this new knowledge to many environments as I continue on my professional path.
Of equal importance to me is the aspect of healing and rejuvenation Circle Songs will bring to me. Without delivering the “whole bale of hay,” suffice to say being a cultural creative & innovative in the southeast is challenging. I have survived a house fire with my baby girl in my arms, endured a difficult marriage that ended in divorce and financial devastation, nearly died in my own bathtub from hemorrhage and spoken with the White Light. As I enter my wise woman years after raising 2 brilliant children, I shift my focus to myself and my remaining life’s work.
Oh, and, I am very fun to be around, too!
It is my great hope to join Circle Songs.
PS. I did sing on stage with Bobby McFerrin at a concert (early 1990’s) at Warner Theater. I ran from the balcony, down stairs, through the lobby where ushers were backed against the wall to get out of my way, and was the last audience member onstage. Our eyes met; it felt like a spirit recognition.
